What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Sales Associate (Greenhouse) position at Bomgaars?
Bomgaars is seeking a motivated, customer service oriented individual to work peak gardening seasons in the Plants/Nursery department. Position requires flexibility in shifts for watering sessions - days, evenings, and weekends.
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years or older
- Agriculture background
- Product knowledge - plants, shrubs, and vegetables
- Willing to work outside for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis
- Committed to excellent customer service and ensure customer satisfaction
- Must be available to work flexible schedules - days, evenings, weekends (shift premium paid for working weekends)
Responsibilities:
- Freight Handling/Merchandising indoors and outdoors/Signage with plant information
- Maintain the greenhouse area (varying weather conditions)
- Basic gardening tasks (watering, weeding, fertilizing, and repotting as needed)
- Stocking with new plants/rotating inventory/checking for damaged or unhealthy plants
- Assisting customers with product selection and load outs
- Handling phone calls
- Other tasks as assigned
*Pre-employment drug screen required
Starting wage is $10.00 per hour
