Job Summary:
The Bookkeeper will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day financial transactions, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles. This role will play a crucial part in supporting the financial health of the organization by providing reliable data for decision-making and ensuring that all transactions are recorded and reconciled correctly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Record day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
- Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and other financial accounts on a regular basis.
- Maintain and organize financial records, ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- Prepare financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, for management review.
- Process invoices, payments, and vendor accounts while ensuring timely and accurate transactions.
- Manage payroll processing, including calculating wages, deductions, and tax filings.
- Monitor and manage budgets, identifying discrepancies or potential areas of concern.
- Assist with month-end and year-end financial close processes.
- Prepare documentation for audits and tax filing purposes.
- Stay updated on financial regulations and compliance requirements to ensure adherence.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar tools).
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Ability to handle confidential financial information with integrity.
- Strong communication skills for working with vendors, clients, and internal teams.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
