The Certified Pharmacy Technician works as part of an interdisciplinary patient care team, and under the direction of the Pharmacist.Essential Functions : Receiving and verifying the accuracy and authenticity of prescriptionsReviewing and recording patient information with their prescription in compliance with the guidelines of the General Pharmaceutical CouncilProviding instructions to educate people on the correct way to take their medicineSupporting the Pharmacist in the daily operation of the pharmacyProtecting employees and patients by adhering to infection-control protocols and policiesOther duties as assignedEducation : High School Degree or GEDLicensure / Certification : Valid ExCPT Certification provided by the National Health Career Association or Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification and registration with State Board of Pharmacy (required)Experience : Previous experience working in Retail, Ambulatory, Outpatient, Hospital, Acute Care, or Home Infusion Pharmacy (preferred)Skills & Abilities : Ability to be proactive in a rapidly changing environmentEngage with staff and patients in a professional mannerPossesses problem-solving skills with excellent communication and interpersonal skillsRequires knowledge of pharmacy terminology, medication names, and aseptic techniqueMany of our opportunities reward
