The Community Financial Services Specialist is responsible for supporting West Baltimore individuals and families in building financial capabilities, wealth, and providing tax preparation services. The individual will coordinate and deliver Bon Secours Community Works' (BSCW) financial services, tax preparation, financial education, 1:1 coaching and counseling. Will maintain and track program metrics and grant compliance for grant related services.
Essential Job Functions
Conduct client intake and assessments for financial services' programs.
Coordinate and deliver BSCW's financial education in group and/or 1:1 settings to community members, housing residents and and program participants.
Provide tax preparation services to individuals and business in the West Baltimore community and to individuals and families who qualify.
Develop and refine financial curriculum in budgeting, debt, credit, goal setting, emotional intelligence, and wealth building.
Monitor and report on grant compliance.
Conduct outreach and recruitment through multiple mechanisms including but not limited to virtual events, social media outreach, hiring fairs, and community events.
Compile and input data into assigned databases. Design program improvements strategies based on data analysis.
Manage partner relationships, including those with housing resident counselors and funders.
Employment Qualifications:
Required Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree
Specialty/Major: Business, finance, social work, public health, human services, education, and tax preparation, advance level
Preferred Education: Master’s Degree
Specialty/Major: Business, finance, social work, public health, human services, education, and tax preparation, advance level
Minimum Years and Type of Experience:
2 years of progressive, related experience in case management, financial coaching, tax preparation and community engagement.
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Combination of post-secondary education and experience in lieu of a degree.
