Primary Function/General Purpose Of Position
Provides security presence at the St. Francis Hospital system facilities and ensures safety for patients, visitors and staff. Assists in any Code Violet incidents, and all other emergent incidents that happen within the Campus. Follows the command of their Site Supervisor pertaining to the duties and functions of the primary campus they are assigned. Security Officer will be required to patrol the facility, understand the functions of the camera systems, and provide general assistance when needed.

Essential Job Functions
Patrols the interior and exterior of the campus to ensure staff safety, and to be alert for criminal activity. Patrols to be conducted in intervals determined by the Post Orders.
Demonstrates the knowledge and psychosocial care skills necessary to respond appropriately to conflict with subjects of varying age, race, gender and culture.
Courteously serves non-direct patient population, including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and/or geriatrics.
Coordinates with the Security Team Lead, Security Site Supervisor, and Security Director on new initiatives within the Security Department.
Responds to all Security related issues such as Code Violets, Rapid Responses, and other codes/ calls for assistance within the Hospital Campuses.
Will provide support service roles such as giving directions to patients/visitors at the Hospital Campuses, and escort patients/visitors when requested.
Will write professionally written reports when incidents occur on the campus by using the ministry standard Omnigo reporting system.
Employment Qualifications
Required Minimum Education: High School Diploma
Preferred Education: Associate degree
Specialty/Major: Criminal Justice
Licensure/Certification Required: Basic IAHSS Certification within 1 year of hire.
Minimum Years and Type of Experience: 1 year of Security experience
Preferred Experience: 2 years of Security experience (Healthcare Preferred) or 1 year law enforcement.
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Basic computer skills, communication skills.
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred: De-escalation skills (CPI).
