What are the responsibilities and job description for the Operating Room (OR) Aide position at Bon Secours?
POSITION SUMMARY
The Operating Room (OR) Aide is responsible for assisting with patient care activities under the supervision of a registered nurse. The employee transports, lifts, positions patients, provides cleaning of rooms between cases, restocks and maintains sufficient supplies for daily use. The OR Assistant demonstrates being an engaged employee by carrying out written and oral instructions with minimal direction. Seeks to supports and actively participate in maintaining a safe environment. Active participant in the team concept by performing additional assignments not directly related to the job when workload requires and as directed. Heavy lifting required. Individual must demonstrate initiative, excellent communication skills, and attention to details. Works well with others and requires minimal supervision.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
1. High School graduate or equivalent required.
2. Previous experience in hospital setting and patient care desired.
3. BLS-Heart saver certified or achieves it within 30 days of employment.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
Location- Mary Immaculate Hospital (2 Bernardine Dr. Newport News, Virginia 23602)
Schedule- Monday - Friday (5 days)
Shift- 11:00am - 7:30pm EST
Other- No mandatory weekend requirements or on call shift. However, many of our OR Aides will pick up on-call for weekends for extra money (encouraged for this opening as well)
