POSITION PURPOSE
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for the day-to-day Inventory Control activities at the Bona Distribution Center. Duties will include cycle counting of raw and finished goods inventory to fulfill cycle count program requirements and assist in analysis and investigation of variances to ensure timely and accurate completion of warehouse tasks. This position will work closely with all functional departments in the distribution center and Supply Chain Management to achieve division objectives while maintaining a focus on customer service, product quality, and inventory accuracy. This Inventory Control Specialist will also contribute to a positive team atmosphere and apply safety guidelines in a fair and consistent manner.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DUTIES
QUALIFICATION AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED and/or equivalent work experience
- Experience in warehouse/distribution management and inventory accuracy
- 1 year of experience operating forklifts
- 1 year of inventory control experience
- Must have experience warehousing finished goods and raw materials
- Working knowledge of a Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and warehouse management concepts
- Must demonstrate a “hands-on” problem solving approach
- Effective verbal and written communication, organizational, and analytical skills and strong attention to detail
- Extensive working knowledge of PC functions and Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
- Experience in a start-up operation a plus
JOB DUTIES:
- Perform random, in-process auditing designated by the Quality Manager/Supervisor or Lead and assist with follow-up on quality-related problems
- Inspect finished products, products being processed, incoming materials, parts, assemblies, and test products for conformance to company standards and ensure corrective action is being taken on failed inspections.
- Research, resolve, and communicate any issues to Supervisor and assist coworkers in troubleshooting and problem solving.
- Document audit findings and records in quality database system.
- Bring ideas to management and be able to implement necessary process improvements.
- Drive strict adherences to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Keep the warehouse clean and adhere to the 5’S Housekeeping Standards
- Develop mutually beneficial, respectful, and effective relationships with peers to ensure seamless coordination between departments, maximize synergy, and maintain a shared vision, strategy, and focus.
- Able and willing to work the necessary hours to meet all project deadlines; travel when necessary.
- Oversees and contributes to the development and continual improvement of the SHEQ Management System(s).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 25% of the time.
- Must be able to bend, climb stairs, and continuously stand or walk 75% of the time.
- Must be able to move within the office and plant to reach file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Must be able to use dexterity to handle small safety equipment and/or hazardous material.
- Must be able to lift and carry 15-25 pounds and frequently move equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Must be able to communicate effectively by listening and in both written and verbal forms.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Generally, works in a warehouse environment but is also required to perform job duties in a typical office setting.
- This position regularly requires large amounts of time to be spent using manufacturing equipment, which generally entails regular and repetitive motions along with exposure to loud noises. All safety procedures should be adhered to in these situations.
- This position also requires some amount of time to be spent using computer equipment, which entails regular and repetitive motions.
- Will regularly be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, or chemicals. All safety procedures should be adhered to in each of these situations.
- Subject to working near moving parts of heavy machinery and high voltage equipment where use of appropriate safety equipment is required.
- Work includes indoors and outdoors environment during possible adverse weather conditions.

Compensation for the role will depend on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience, and may fall outside of the range provided. The compensation range listed above may encompass base salary, performance-based bonuses, and commission opportunities, if applicable.
