POSITION PURPOSE
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing production and facilities maintenance, including capital/project management, within Bona’s manufacturing facilities and distribution center (DC2). This position is responsible for ensuring all policies and procedures are followed, maintaining facility and equipment records, completing predictive and preventative maintenance on time, daily production support/troubleshooting, maximizing production equipment uptime, ensuring production equipment capabilities meet business needs, identifying and implementing facility and process improvements (CapEx & OpEx), and expense/budget management. This individual is responsible for identifying job responsibilities, setting schedules, establishing goals, monitoring progress, providing feedback, coaching and training, addressing performance concerns, succession planning, and allocating salary adjustments and bonus payments. The Maintenance Manager is also responsible for contributing to a positive work environment and applying all internal guidelines in a fair and consistent manner.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DUTIES
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or relevant discipline and/or equivalent work experience
- 7 years of experience in manufacturing, maintenance and/or engineering
- 3 years of experience in a managerial role, responsible for a team of direct reports
- Proven track record of being results-oriented, with the ability to set clear goals, develop actionable plans, and drive measurable outcomes in maintenance and manufacturing operations
- Demonstrated ability to identify inefficiencies, implement continuous improvement initiatives, and achieve performance targets related to equipment uptime, safety, and cost control
- Industry knowledge or knowledge of chemical formulations and manufacturing processes is highly desirable
- Formal training and experience in implementing process improvement, project management, and quality management tools such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, ISO, etc.
- Extensive working knowledge of PC functions and Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.
- Experience with SAP, CAD, or Visio is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and able to influence others to achieve results
JOB DUTIES:
- Develop and maintain expert knowledge of manufacturing techniques and processes, plant equipment, and facility needs.
- Manage CapEx program for US manufacturing plants and warehouses, including budgeting, requests, implementation and associated reporting.
- Lead the design and implementation of new or improved manufacturing processes in coordination with SH&E, Quality, and Production.
- Originate, design, and conduct plant trials to determine performance capabilities.
- Apply continuous improvement, value creation, and financial acumen to accelerate profitability and low-cost service of the facility.
- Support production troubleshooting and develop solutions to eliminate or reduce equipment and production process issues while maximizing equipment and process uptime.
- Lead the Maintenance team for the Bona’s facilities, maintain the facility and all equipment, and maintain facility records and preventative maintenance system to ensure all activities are completed on time for production equipment, facility, vehicles, etc.
- Manage performance of department by identifying job responsibilities, recruiting and selecting candidates, coaching, setting goals and development plans, monitoring progress, providing feedback and training, addressing performance concerns, and allocating salary adjustments and bonus payments.
- Ensures all safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures, ISO programs, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) are adhered to.
- Create and revise procedures and support compliance reporting as needed.
- Provide input during budget planning and manage expenses within budget.
- Oversees and contributes to the development and continual improvement of the SH&E Management System(s).
- Develop mutually beneficial, respectful, and effective relationships with peers to ensure seamless coordination between departments and maintain a shared strategy.
- Able and willing to work the necessary hours to meet all project deadlines; travel when necessary.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position 25% of the time.
- Must be able to bend, climb stairs, and continuously stand or walk 75% of the time.
- Must be able to physically run all manufacturing equipment and machines within the plant.
- Must be able to position self to reach all areas of machine, including under and above.
- Must be able to lift and carry 15-25 pounds and frequently move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to communicate effectively by listening and in both written and verbal forms.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Generally, works in a manufacturing environment but is also required to perform job duties in a typical office setting.
- This position regularly requires large amounts of time to be spent using manufacturing equipment, which generally entails regular and repetitive motions along with exposure to loud noises. All safety procedures should be adhered to in these situations.
- This position also requires some amount of time to be spent using computer equipment, which entails regular and repetitive motions.
- Will regularly be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, or chemicals. All safety procedures should be adhered to in each of these situations.

Compensation for the role will depend on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience, and may fall outside of the range provided. The compensation range listed above may encompass base salary, performance-based bonuses, and commission opportunities, if applicable.
