The Role | Employee Benefits Specialist
BVBG is currently looking to fill a jack-of-all-trades role, focused on delivering a white glove
experience to all of our benefits clients. Bona Vita Benefits currently serves nearly 3000
participants across a wide variety of solutions. The individual filling this role should feel very
comfortable working with participants through the life cycle of an employer sponsored
benefits engagement. From the first benefits orientation meeting to ongoing support of
participants, this member of our team will play a crucial role in building on our stellar
reputation as a brokerage team that truly cares for each and every stakeholder of the
organization.
Duties | Day In The Life Of A Benefits Specialist
- Work collaboratively with the account executive to support ongoing needs of our
benefits clients; additions, terminations, orientations, ad-hoc invoice audits, etc.
- Prepare and deliver benefits orientation meetings to clients; on-site or via zoom
- Support plan implementation and renewals, by navigating EASE and EMPLOYEE
NAVIGATOR
- Work directly with participants to troubleshoot issues utilizing their insurance plans;
network navigation, claims advocacy, formulary consultations, etc.
- Support non-advisory touch points of the retirement planning process including;
general education, participant services, and acting as a liaison between the employer,
recordkeeper and third party administrator
Requirements | Product & Process Knowledge
- Deep knowledge of employer sponsored benefit plans; medical, dental, vision,
ancillary, voluntary, flexfunds, etc.
- Understanding of the provider-carrier relationship and working knowledge of
supporting individuals with claims
- Comfort with presenting benefits to individuals, both on zoom and in person
- Working knowledge or ability to learn how a retirement plan works (defined
contribution & defined benefit)
- Experience working with or ability to learn various recordkeeping systems (John
Hancock, Transamerica, America Funds, etc.)
- Understanding of the annual processes surrounding defined contribution & defined
benefit plans (5500 filings, annual testing, required notices, IRS deadlines)
- Experience utilizing a CRM system (Salesforce, etc.) to manage projects and service
based issues

- Experience working in a customer facing capacity for service

- Ability to manage multiple projects with conflicting deadlines
- Capable of delivering white glove service experience
- Exhibits tenacity in serving existing clients
- Capable of understanding employer sponsored benefit programs
Compensation | Financial Renumeration
- Base Salary of $60,000, based on experience and knowledge of products
- Performance based service bonus up to 10% of compensation
- Payroll related benefits (Social Security Benefits, Medicare Benefits, FMLA, Workers

- Contribution of 70% of medical insurance cost up to $500 per month
- Contribution of $100 per month toward cost of dental, vision and group life insurance
- Employer-sponsored 401(k) plan with 3% match
- Cell phone reimbursement of $125 per month
- Paid Vacation: 10 Days (Year 1) 2 More Days for Every Year Working, up to 20 Days
- Paid Sick Leave: 5 Day
