Bonati Spine Institute is seeking a full-time Patient Advocate/Screener to join our team.

We are seeking a compassionate Patient Advocate/Screener to help our patients navigate the complexities and obstacles of the healthcare system. To be a successful Patient Advocate, you should have a basic understanding of insurance, excellent customer service skills, effective time-management and organizational skills, and a passion for the well-being of patients.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Promptly answer phones with a smile and communicate with patients in a courteous manner.
• Verify patient demographic and insurance information.
• Document all current/previous medical history relating to the spine.
• Explain the Bonati Procedure to patients and answer questions regarding our services we offer.
• Interpret and explain clinic policies and financial obligations to patient (Deductible/Out of Pocket/Coinsurance).
• Assist patients in navigating the clinic process and policies for scheduling appointments (i.e. MRI imaging and surgical scheduling).
• Meet with walk-in patients as needed.
• Successfully build rapport with patients and/or families.
• Become a professional liaison between the patient and staff at the Bonati Spine Institute.

Requirements:

• Knowledge of Insurance policies
• Medical Terminology and/or medical experience preferred but not required
• Customer Service
• High-School Diploma
• Knowledge of Centricity and Availity system preferred but not required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Experience:

• Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)
• Medical office: 1 year (Preferred)
