We are seeking a compassionate Patient Advocate/Screener to help our patients navigate the complexities and obstacles of the healthcare system. To be a successful Patient Advocate, you should have a basic understanding of insurance, excellent customer service skills, effective time-management and organizational skills, and a passion for the well-being of patients.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Promptly answer phones with a smile and communicate with patients in a courteous manner.
- Verify patient demographic and insurance information.
- Document all current/previous medical history relating to the spine.
- Explain the Bonati Procedure to patients and answer questions regarding our services we offer.
- Interpret and explain clinic policies and financial obligations to patient (Deductible/Out of Pocket/Coinsurance).
- Assist patients in navigating the clinic process and policies for scheduling appointments (i.e. MRI imaging and surgical scheduling).
- Meet with walk-in patients as needed.
- Successfully build rapport with patients and/or families.
- Become a professional liaison between the patient and staff at the Bonati Spine Institute.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of Insurance policies
- Medical Terminology and/or medical experience preferred but not required
- Customer Service
- High-School Diploma
- Knowledge of Centricity and Availity system preferred but not required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
