Role
The Housekeeper will report directly to the Housekeeping Manager of our client, a modern upscale hotel in New Orleans, and play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness, functionality, and welcoming atmosphere of the property. BonBon Strategic is facilitating this hiring on behalf of the client. This is an on-site, part-time position, with work hours from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM (depending on number of cleans) and 7 days-per-week availability. We are hiring for 2-3 positions.
Duties & Responsibilities
The Housekeeper’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Guest Room & Public Area Cleaning: Maintain cleanliness of all guest rooms, public areas, and assigned hotel spaces, adhering to established standards.
- Public Area Maintenance: Keep public restrooms, hotel lobby, elevators, stairwells, building entrances, and hallways clean and well-maintained.
- Linen & Supplies: Organize, clean, and stock linen closets and maintain accurate inventory.
- Trash Removal: Empty trash and soiled linen from carts and transport to designated areas, including the compactor.
- Windows & Hallways: Clean hotel windows and vacuum guest hallways as needed.
- Chemical Use & Safety: Use cleaning chemicals according to department procedures and safety standards.
- Guest Interactions: Provide excellent guest service, handling requests and inquiries with professionalism and friendliness.
- Team Communication: Respond to app messages (via Slack and Homebase) and use proper etiquette in radio communications.
- Meetings & Policies: Attend all scheduled departmental meetings and adhere to all company policies, procedures, and uniform standards.
- Equipment & Emergency Procedures: Maintain cleanliness of work equipment, execute emergency procedures as directed, and comply with hotel safety regulations.
- Other Duties: Perform additional tasks as directed by management that align with the company’s policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Prior experience in housekeeping or a related field is required.
- Ability to communicate effectively and maintain a friendly, positive attitude.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and equipment is a plus.
- Commitment to providing exceptional guest service.
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varied shifts as needed.
