Bonclarken - Director of Maintenance
Summary/Objective
The Director of Maintenance position is responsible for managing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain facilities and equipment, safety systems, grounds, and processes that support Bonclarken's vision of providing a place of inspiration and renewal for our guests. In addition, the Director will be responsible for assigning jobs, assisting other departments where necessary, and interacting with guests when needed.
Essential Functions

Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain facilities at Bonclarken including but not limited to guest rooms, dining room, plumbing, lighting, HVAC, and grounds.
Provide emergency/unscheduled equipment repairs and perform scheduled maintenance repairs.
Perform handyman tasks and responsibilities.
Perform skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, troubleshooting and repair of all buildings and equipment on the grounds of Bonclarken.
Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders for maintenance and service.
Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
Perform regular preventive maintenance on grounds, equipment, and facilities.
Perform a variety of plumbing, electrical maintenance and carpentry functions.
Use various hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment when performing duties.
Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
Comply with OSHA safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
We will take a " hands-on " approach to working with the entire Bonclarken staff and volunteers to meet the needs of our guests.
Manage work with outside vendors as needed for contracted maintenance needs and projects.
Worked with essential office computer software and completed administrative functions using our Computer Maintenance Management Software.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has supervisory responsibilities that oversees full time, part time, volunteer, and subcontractor work duties of the maintenance department.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites may also be loud.
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. with some after hours and weekend work as necessary to meet the needs of our guests.
Travel
No travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience
Eight to ten years of management experience in maintenance positions that include work as listed in the Essential Functions section.
High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship or an equivalent number of years of education and maintenance experience.
Valid driver's license.
Preferred Education and Experience
An AA degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance.
4 years of manufacturing experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with some PLC experience and HVAC.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
Successful candidate:
You may be required to take and pass a physical.
Must be legally eligible to work in North Carolina.
Must be able to pass a thorough criminal background check.
