Job Summary
Using a hands-on approach, independent decision-making, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills, this individual will oversee daily payroll operations, ensuring the accurate and timely execution of multi-state payroll processing for multiple FEINs, with a focus on key internal controls, company standards, and federal, state, and local tax compliance. It is critical for the Payroll Specialist to have extensive knowledge of the payroll function to include, but not limited to, payroll computations, multi-jurisdictional payroll taxation, quarterly and annual payroll tax reporting and reconciliation, wage garnishments, payroll accounting, internal controls, payroll analysis and reporting, and federal, state, and local laws. This hybrid role will be based out of the Frisco office and reports directly to the Payroll / HRIS Director, with regular and frequent interaction with Human Resources, Finance, employees, practice leadership, and the executive team.

Summary of Essential Job Functions :
- Review payroll data and execute accurate, timely multi-state payroll processing for multiple FEINs with accuracy, including processing payroll adjustments, garnishments and resolving discrepancies accordingly under minimal supervision
- Prepare reconciliations of all quarterly and annual payroll tax returns and ensure timely resolution of variances with third-party payroll / tax vendors.
- Preparation of relevant wage, tax, and deduction reports in accordance with established schedules.
- Process tax notices and ensure appropriate resolution by a third-party payroll / tax vendor.
- Performs payroll analysis and payroll-related reporting as requested
- Manages day-to-day functions within the timekeeping and scheduling platform
- Monitor and actively communicate legislative and compliance-related changes that may impact payroll processes and internal policies to the CHRO.
- In partnership with Human Resources, review and analyze current practices to maximize technical efficiencies and identify process improvements leading to best-practice operations.
- Process applications for new state income, unemployment, and local tax account numbers as needed.
- Schedules payrolls to allow for holiday conflicts
- Assists employees or managers with questions about payroll policies and pay discrepancies
- Ensures compliance with mandatory and voluntary withholdings and deductions are accurately calculated and reported
- Works with the payroll system to resolve payroll problems and communicates system outages / upgrades to employees
- Processes various monthly reports (or as requested) using the HR / Payroll system
- Maintains payroll-related files and records
- Collaborates with HR to answer benefits and unemployment questions
- Assists in the preparation for year-end processing
- Completes ad-hoc projects as required
