Accounts Receivable Manager

Bond, Schoeneck & King PLLC, a law firm of 300 attorneys in over 30 practice groups, is accepting applications for a full-time Accounts Receivable Manager in our Syracuse, New York office. This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Firm’s accounts receivable function.

Position Responsibilities:

• Supervise accounts receivable team, including external accounts receivable collections group
• Report accurate and timely accounts receivable statistics to management on a monthly basis
• Monitor and manage monthly collections and address issues
• Facilitate and lead regular Accounts Receivable/Work in Process Committee meetings
• Work with external accounts receivable collections group, AR/WIP Committee, as well as Management to improve the collections for certain Members
• Develop strong interpersonal communication with the firm's senior-level Attorneys, CFO, Managing Partner.
• Work with the Billing Manager to streamline the process of sending bills accurately and collecting fees in a systematic fashion to reduce days to collect.
• Assist in bringing the firm's external collections group in-house.
• Process accounts receivable write-offs within Firm guidelines
• Improve and optimize the technology and operational collection process and procedures
• Serve as a backup to all collection functions
• Support the accounts receivable team with special projects and workflow process improvements
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred
• Experience managing a team required
• Accounting experience required
• Experience working in a law firm or professional services firm is preferred.
• Experience with Aderant, Elite Enterprise or other large, automated accounting system preferred. Must have strong experience with Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Ability to integrate efficiency and implement best practices
• Must possess good communication (oral and written), problem solving, and analytical skills
• Ability to multi-task under pressure and meet deadlines as required

This position's salary range is between $90,000 to $100,000, negotiable based on years’ experience.
