Bond, Schoeneck & King, PLLC, a law firm of 300 attorneys in more than 30 practice and industry groups, is accepting applications for a full-time Billing Supervisor to support our Accounting Department in any of our New York office locations. The Billing Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing the firm's billing operations. This position will supervise, train, and mentor a team of billing specialists, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness throughout the billing process.
Position Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of the billing process, from pre-billing to final invoice, ensuring compliance and consistency with regulatory guidelines and firm policies across all office locations.
- Manage and supervise e-billing processes and submissions.
- Supervise, train, and mentor billing specialists, providing guidance and support while communicating billing and time entry best practices.
- Maintain balanced billing workloads to optimize team performance.
- Monitor bills, monthly time entries, and aging work in progress to ensure timely account billing.
- Keep Aderant updated with accurate information, such as names, addresses, billing groups and formats, etc.
- Conduct monthly review of unapplied credit and retainer accounts, ensuring timely application to client accounts.
- Resolve billing disputes, payment issues, and other related concerns promptly and effectively.
- Collaborate with attorneys, clients, and other departments to address billing inquiries and enhance client satisfaction by ensuring timely responses.
- Develop and implement improvements to billing processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Identify areas for additional team training to maintain high skill levels across the billing group.
- Lead one-on-one check-ins with direct reports and full billing team meetings.
- Address performance issues among team members.
- Work closely with the Billing Manager to escalate client or team concerns proactively.
- Create and maintain updated documentation on processes and procedures.
- Additional research and/or projects, as required.
Job Requirements:
- Associate degree in Accounting or Business.
- Previous law firm experience is preferred.
- Experience in leading and managing a team, providing guidance, and motivating employees.
- Knowledge of or familiarity with Aderant, Prebill Manager, Intapp, and iManage is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and accounts receivable management.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills to effectively interact with staff, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Reliable and self-motivated, with the ability to work both independently and with a team across multiple locations.
- Must maintain strict confidentiality in all matters.
- Willingness to work overtime as necessary to meet deadlines.

This position's salary range is between $80,000 and $90,000 negotiable based on years’ experience.
