Lead Maintenance Technician - 1st Shift

Schedule A OFF: SUN, MON, FRI (5:00AM - 3:30PM)
Schedule B OFF: TUES, WED, SAT (5:00AM - 3:30PM)

Key Responsibilities:

• Follows GMP/PPE, Safety guidelines
• Ability to be cross trained and multitask in multiple positions
• Ability to communicate (verbally and in writing to complete required documentation)
• Understand work order process and process
• Works safely around moving equipment & conveyors in wet environment
• General record keeping abilities
• Maintain stock levels and budget limitations
• Performs audits of completed tasks inspecting that work is completed as described.
• Expert knowledge of machinery and parts
• Maintain safe work environment
• Work in a fast paced environment
• Have the ability to work with outside contractors and visitors (as needed)
• Ability to work with little supervision to complete tasks in the allotted time frame
• Ability to understand MSDS information sheets for plant chemicals and cleaners
• Ability to use SAE and Metric standards
• Good Organizational practices
• Establishes workflow and project directives to Department teams.
• Oversees the daily functions of Team (Leads)
• Maintains a clean work area at all times
• Perform other duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ability to read, write and speak English; comprehension of basic math.
• Willingness and flexibility to work in a cold, wet, fast-paced, 24 hour plant environment.
• Ability to work flexible schedule
• Ability to multitask
• Ability to lead/direct workflow
• Ability to understand plant KPI’s (production, quality & safety)
• Knowledge of HACCP & Sanitation guidelines and processes
• Knowledge of QA operating standards
• Ability to lead teams to complete desired goals
• GED/High School Diploma.
• Electrical/plumbing/PLC/Refrigeration system
• Understanding of department budget and cost saving initiatives (Accounting experience)
• Microsoft Excel, Word and JDE experience
• Interaction with management and other departments

Physical Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, this position entails use of ladders and catwalks to reach production equipment, regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to extreme cold for extended periods of time. The associate frequently works in high, precarious places. The associate is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
