PRN Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner

Join our team of Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine experts to work at our After-Hours Walk-In Clinic in Gretna, LA! Bone and Joint Clinic is seeking an experienced Physician’s Assistant/Nurse Practitioner at our Orthopaedic Walk-In Clinic to provide services to adult and pediatric patients with orthopedic-related injuries. This primary provider at the walk-in clinic requires an experienced PA/NP who is comfortable diagnosing and managing a variety of upper and lower extremity injuries and orthopedic conditions with Orthpaedic physician on call back-up.

Our Walk-In Clinic treats conditions only on a walk-in basis. Hours are Saturday and Sunday 12-5PM. Looking for providers interested in PRN shifts. Orthopedic experience a huge plus!!!

Job Duties:

• Evaluates, diagnoses and treats orthopedic conditions
• Must be comfortable ordering and interpreting x-rays. On call physician is available to review X-rays
• Works autonomously, but maintains a close working relationship with Bone and Joint Physicians
• When necessary, actively seek physician input and review all aspects of patient care with physician to meet the highest quality care
• Manages medical records within our EHR system
• Must work carefully with attention to detail
• Communicates care options to patients and families in a friendly fashion

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Physician’s Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Program /Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies or Master’s Degree in Nursing
• Current, Active, Unrestricted Louisiana Physician’s Assistant/Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license with prescriptive authority
• Experience: Orthopaedic experience preferred
• Must have a National Provider Identifier (NPI)
• BLS certification

Salary: $70/hr
