Professional Career Opportunity: Grinder Operator Day Shift

Shift - 5 am to 5 pm

Pay Rate - $26.73

Position Summary

Bongards is seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team as a Grinder Operator on Day Shift. This is a key role within our cheese processing team, responsible for handling cheese barrels, operating grinder, and ensuring consistent product quality. As a grinder operator, you will play an integral part in maintaining operation excellence, safety, and food quality standards.

Job Duties

• Safely open and prepare all barrels and blocks of cheese used for grinding.
• Accurately record weights and other pertinent information.
• Ensure the cheese is properly cleaned before being fed into the grinder.
• Operate and monitor the grinder, ensuring efficient operation.
• Maintain effective communication with cooker operator, blend set-up, and leadperson to ensure smooth workflow.
• Follow all safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout procedures, to operate the grinder safely.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety and GMP guidelines.
• Operate a forklift as necessary.
• Must report all food safety and quality concerns to immediate supervisor or their designated replacement.
• All other duties as assigned by the supervisor or leadperson.

• Must demonstrate excellent communication skills.
• Must be able to read and follow written instructions.
• Must adhere to and follow all Safety, GMP, and other quality guidelines.
  
  

Physical Capabilities

• Ability to manipulate and move 500-pound barrels as part of daily duties.
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs. regularly as part of the physical demands of the job.
