Job Summary: As the Maintenance Supervisor, you will oversee the Maintenance team and focus on driving Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), implementing new maintenance processes, and developing reliability strategies. This role will foster an inclusive and innovative team environment. You will guide the team on the best technical practices and establish standard policies and procedures while mentoring and leading the department.
People Management:
- Supervise, coach, and develop a high-performing Maintenance team that delivers key results, ensures reliable equipment operation, provides technical expertise, and continuously improves.
- Meet department objectives/Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), track and report performance, and provide open and honest feedback to direct performance reports.
- Guide staff in assessing, prioritizing, and correcting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment operations.
- Identify and deploy technical skills, resources, and systems to deliver projects, including the engagement of external resources as required.
- Monitor execution of work orders, preventative maintenance, and inspections.
- Promote a culture of trust, safety, and respect.
Department Management:
- Supervise the maintenance team to ensure optimal machine availability, manage equipment failures, and lead the team to deliver effectively.
- Optimize equipment according to industry reliability best practices, enhance performance and product quality, and ensure the achievement of determined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Build strategic working relationships with peers, vendors, and regulatory agencies in achieving and maintaining the accuracy and consistent flow of information, execution of procedures, and performance of overall operations.
- Ensure that designated buildings, processing plant, equipment, and facilities are fit for purpose and provide proactive support and solutions when required.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining procedures and guidelines for RMP/PSM, HazMat, and other programs and certifications. Audit and ensure compliance of the maintenance and engineering compliance systems.
- Support the introduction of new equipment, plant, and equipment from drawing up to specification to managing suppliers through to full installation in collaboration with all relevant parties.
- Assist and provide recommendations on the selection of contracting and vendors and support vendor/contract management.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in industrial technology, Industrial Trades, or related field, Military or Equivalent work experience of 5 years.
- Leadership experience.
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems using sound troubleshooting techniques.
- Experience with CMMS systems, development of preventative maintenance programs, and parts management system architecture.
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, utilities, and facilities.
- Compliance experience with Cal-OSHA, EPA, PSM, and other codes/regulations.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods and work on a computer for extended periods.
- Must be able to climb stairs.
- Lifting may be required.
