Bonitz of Georgia is hiring a Roofing Crewmember. We are looking for a dedicated and dependable Roofing Laborer to join our installation team. You will ultimately be installing or repairing roofs on commercial structures. Under the training and coaching of the site supervisors, you’ll assist the team by preparing the work site, cleaning, loading or unloading materials, and removing hazards. You’ll also learn to operate and maintain our equipment. A successful laborer will be dependable, flexible and adaptable to their work duties and be mechanically inclined. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist other team members through the entire construction project – equipment operators, installers, and other skilled tradesmen
- Operate and maintain construction equipment and machines
- Load or unload equipment and construction materials
- Prep construction sites
- Assemble temporary structures, such as ladders and scaffolding
- Assist with site cleanup
- Follow instructions from site supervisors
- Learn company and OSHA policies through on-the-job training
- Clean and maintain tools and equipment
- Work with various construction materials (concrete, wood, and steel deck products)
- Follow safety protocols
- Recognize and report any unsafe jobsite condition
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Overtime as required
- Communication skills
- Must wear and maintain protective equipment and clothing
- Travel to various job sites, 25% weekday overnight travel
- Must be able to lift, push, or pull heavy equipment (50 – 75 pounds)
- Must possess the ability to stand for long periods of time
- Must possess good manual dexterity to climb around equipment and job site
- Ability to work at heights as well as access heights from a ladder
- Employees may be required to perform any other job-related tasks as requested by the Foreman
- Must enjoy working outside in all weather conditions
- Ability to work nights and occasional weekend day(s)
- 90 day Probationary period
REQUIREMENTS - Bonitz of Georgia is a drug-free workplace
- Potential candidates must be willing to submit to a preemployment drug screening to be considered for hire
- Clean driving record (no DUI’s or super speed tickets in the last 5 years)
- Experience in commercial roofing required
- Experience with fabricating metal flashings, using a heat seamer, using a hand welder, and using metal roof tools
- Mechanically inclined
- Willingness to learn the operation and maintenance of the equipment
- Forklift and aerial lift experience & certifications are a plus but not required
- 10-hour OSHA training is a plus but not required
