Our client, a rapidly growing healthcare organization recently contracted with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Texas Department of Insurance, is seeking a Controller to join their team.

Position Overview :
The Controller will oversee a wide range of financial and accounting functions, including transaction processing, general ledger management, financial reporting, revenue recognition, and regulatory compliance. This role reports directly to the CFO / SVP of Finance and will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial records in accordance with GAAP. The Controller will also play a key role in audits, budgeting, and cross-functional collaboration to support the organization’s strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities :
- Prepare and analyze financial statements with detailed footnotes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
- Oversee the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statement filings with regulators.
- Manage the monthly close process, ensuring completion by the 10th day of each month.
- Reconcile all balance sheet accounts monthly and record necessary GAAP adjustments.
- Monitor cash flow, settlements, and transfers, advising management as needed.
- Review and reconcile daily credit card transactions, ensuring compliance with policies.
- Lead the annual audit process, including responding to requests, creating schedules, and drafting financial statements.
- Prepare monthly board of directors (BOD) packages and weekly reporting to the CEO.
- Assist in the preparation and review of annual tax returns.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish policies and procedures for accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Prepare and oversee budgeting and forecasting for administrative expenses and department spending.
- Guide and mentor the accounting team, ensuring alignment with the organization’s goals.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement more efficient procedures.
- Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as required.
