We are seeking a highly skilled Aluminum Casting Supervisorto oversee and manage the daily operations of our aluminum casting team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in metal casting, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of aluminum alloy processes and quality standards. The Team Leader will ensure safe, efficient, high-quality aluminum casting production while supervising a team of skilled operators and technicians.

Bonnell Aluminum is North America’s premier manufacturer of custom aluminum extrusions. We manufacture mill finish, anodized, painted and thermally broken aluminum extrusions. Our press size ranges from 1,550 to 5,500-tons.
We produce large diameter extrusions requiring high-quality surface finish up to 16 inches in circle size. Fabricators and distributors use our extruded profiles in various applications: curtain walls, storefronts, light to heavy commercial and institutional windows, walkway covers, interior architectural products, photovoltaic panels, solar collectors, heat sinks for L.E.D. lighting, shower enclosures, hurricane protection products, automotive, light trucks, recreational vehicles, and industrial machinery.

What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Supervise Casting Operations: Lead, motivate, and oversee the aluminum casting team in executing daily production schedules, ensuring operations meet quality standards, safety guidelines, and production goals.
- Process Optimization: Monitor and improve casting processes for efficiency, cost reduction, and product quality. Continuously identify opportunities for process improvements, troubleshooting, and defect reduction.
- Team Management: Assign tasks to team members, manage work schedules, and provide technical guidance. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Quality Control: Ensure all castings meet the required specifications and quality standards. Perform regular inspections and coordinate with the quality control team to address any defects or non-conformances.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols, ensuring that all team members are trained and compliant with workplace safety standards, including PPE use and equipment operation.
- Equipment Maintenance: Ensure proper maintenance and troubleshooting of casting equipment, furnaces, and molds to minimize downtime and optimize production. Coordinate with the maintenance team for routine checks and repairs.
- Training & Development: Provide ongoing training for new and existing team members, ensuring all employees have the necessary skills and knowledge to operate casting equipment and follow safety procedures.
- Production Monitoring: Track production metrics (e.g., yield, cycle time, downtime) and performance reports. Identify and resolve any production issues, ensuring minimal delays or interruptions.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of production data, safety audits, maintenance logs, and quality checks. Prepare reports for management on production performance, team progress, and improvement initiatives.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, such as Quality Assurance, Maintenance, and Logistics, to ensure seamless production workflow and timely product delivery.

- Ability to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in aluminum casting or metalworking preferred, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role in a manufacturing environment.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of aluminum casting processes, including sand casting, die casting, permanent mold casting, and other relevant methods. Familiarity with various aluminum alloys and their properties.
- Leadership Skills: Proven experience in managing a team, with strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate and develop team members for optimal performance.
- Problem Solving: Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills. Ability to identify and address production issues quickly and effectively.
- Safety & Compliance: In-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards related to metal casting. A commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
- Quality Focus: Experience in quality control processes and the ability to inspect and ensure the quality of metal castings, including dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and move heavy materials, work in a hot and noisy environment, and stand for extended periods. Comfort working with molten metals and high-temperature equipment.
- Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Technical certification or a degree in manufacturing, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
