What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Programmer - 3rd Shift position at Bonnell Aluminum?
DEPARTMENT : Fabrication JOB TITLE : CNC Programmer REPORTS TO : Shift Facilitator SHIFT DAYS / HOURS : 3rd Shift 10 hr. shifts (Mon-Thurs) 9 : 00 pm- 7 : 00 am) Must be willing and able to work Mandatory OT on off days as necessary. STARTING PAY : Up to $27.41 per hour.
What You Will Be Responsible For :
Develop and optimize CNC Programs for Haas, Brothers, and DMG Mori CNC Machines
Ensure the maximization of new part development
Support the development of machines parts, tools, tooling and machine fixtures
Ensure / verify machining programs - to ensure compliance to drawing and specification requirements
Determine the sequence of machine operations and select the proper cutting tools needed to machine workpieces
Perform updates / improvements to programs to eliminate errors, and retest programs to check that problems have been solved
Support with set-up documentation creation and control
Computes cutting speeds, feed rates and dimensions
Prepares and pre-sets all tools needed for machining operations
Setup and adjust CNC Machines
Support Set Up employees through normal trouble shooting issues
Work with Quality dept. to interpret layout data
Perform equipment / maintenance checks
Participate in Continuous Improvement activities
Work independently and as part of a team.
Assist other personnel and perform other duties as required per supervisor.
Inform the Supervisor of any equipment problems or any other problems.
Maintain a clean, clutter-free workstation.
Able to participate in a collaborative environment.
Comply with safety policies and procedures.
Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
Work Environment / Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch. The employee must regularly lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and always without air conditioning.
What You Will Need :
HS Diploma / GED
CNC programming
Working knowledge of Horizontal Mills
Working knowledge of Vertical CNC Mills (3 and 4 Axis)
Able to read and understand inspection tools
Read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
Preferred experience with Haas, Brother and DMG Mori CNC Machining Centers
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work efficiently and effectively; self-motivated; self-starter.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Must be conscientious, diplomatic, and detail oriented.
Must pass a company background check and drug screen.
Working knowledge of all CNC screens and functions
Able to understand material handling techniques to package parts off CNC as necessary
