What You’ll Be Responsible For

Bonnell Aluminum is North America’s premier manufacturer of custom aluminum extrusions. We manufacture mill finish, anodized, painted and thermally broken aluminum extrusions. Our press size ranges from 1,550 to 5,500-tons.
We produce large diameter extrusions requiring high-quality surface finish up to 16 inches in circle size. Fabricators and distributors use our extruded profiles in various applications: curtain walls, storefronts, light to heavy commercial and institutional windows, walkway covers, interior architectural products, photovoltaic panels, solar collectors, heat sinks for L.E.D. lighting, shower enclosures, hurricane protection products, automotive, light trucks, recreational vehicles, and industrial machinery.
We are headquartered in Newnan, Georgia. We have manufacturing operations in Newnan, Georgia; Carthage, Tennessee; Niles, Michigan; Clearfield, Utah; and Elkhart, Indiana.

What You’ll Be Responsible For
- The quality technician is responsible for the recognition of process and product quality from the point of origin/operation to packaging. In addition, the quality technician provides operational support and guidance if a risk of producing a nonconforming output exists.
- The quality technician must possess a basic working knowledge of ISO -Based Quality Management Systems: non-conformance and corrective action processes and procedures, segregation, and disposition of suspect product prior to release.
- Customer complaints, Return Material Authorizations (RMA), Continual Process Improvement, dimensional inspection, and verifications.
- calibration control, in-process inspection, first article inspections (FAI).
- Recording and maintaining records related to nonconforming outputs (logs, spreadsheets, control charts (trending). Negative trends must be communicated to department managers when identified to ensure that the appropriate countermeasures can be taken to eliminate potential risks.
- Clear communication skills
- Understand visual acceptance and rejection criteria.
- Maintain and use inspection instrumentation.
- Work well with team members (at all levels of the organization)
- Product and process validation
- APQP: PPAP, CPLAN, PFMEA, (Process Flow Diagram)
- Root Cause Analysis (5 Why, 6M, 8D)
- Internal audits
- Calibration management (learn and maintain management system)
- Specification review (interpret flow down requirements)
- Understand and apply the rules and tools of the QMS.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent with 3-years minimum in the role of a quality technician at an ISO accredited organization
- Associate degree or equivalent in a manufacturing engineer or quality related field preferred or 5 years shop floor experience in troubleshooting bottlenecks using Lean principles.
