JOB DESCRIPTION
Receives limited supervision. This position will be setting up, adjusting and operating the plasma cutting machine to cut raw steel and stainless steel sheets and plates as assigned.
Schedule (4 Day Work Weeks):
- Monday-Thursday 5:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. OR
- Tuesday-Friday 5:30 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.
- Voluntary OT
Pay Range: $19.00-$23.00/hr
Essential Functions

- Work from verbal instructions, drawings, blueprints, sketches, work tickets, nesting reports, etc.
- Sets up, adjusts, and operates plasma cutting machine per job ticket instructions.
- Grinds, de-burs, and reams edges/holes as required.
- Selects raw materials to be cut per job ticket instructions.
- Positions materials on machine table by using an overhead crane and following job ticket instructions.
- Perform machine cleaning and maintenance operations as required.
- Reports abnormal conditions of equipment to supervision.
- Observes all safety rules and regulations and keeps work area clean and orderly.
- Able to read a tape measure and metal thickness gauge.
- May be required to also operate a metal band saw or iron worker to cut steel for parts.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is performed in all weather conditions. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Your manager will provide you with the specific details of your schedule. The schedule is subject to change due to customer requirements or business needs. Overtime may be necessary to handle emergencies, heavy workloads or other issues.
Travel
In rare cases a plasma cutter may be asked to travel.

Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Related experience or completed training.
- Advanced computer skills specifically Microsoft products.

- Trade School Certification

- Experience in a production environment.
