We are seeking a Patient Accounts Representative for a full-time position for our client, a healthcare provider located in Portsmouth, NH . The Patient Accounts Representative will work closely with team members to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of operational activities within the Billing Department. The Patient Accounts Representative should have strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with both internal and external personnel, ensuring accurate billing, claim processing, and timely follow-up on insurance claims. Success in this role includes maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and professionalism in all billing-related tasks. This is a full-time position located in Portsmouth, NH.
As a Patient Accounts Representative, you will be responsible for :
- Billing Review : Ensure client billing is accurate and compliant with payer requirements.
- Claims Preparation : Prepare Medicare and Medicaid claims on a weekly basis following established procedures.
- Payment Processing : Post all electronic payments on time and maintain an organized record of cash receipts.
- Remittance Advice : Review remittance advice (RA) for appropriate payment and resolve claim denials and insurance coverage changes.
- Account Receivables : Review AR reports weekly, research account balances, and follow up on past due accounts until resolution.
- Communication : Act as a liaison between clients, clinicians, and support staff to address any billing issues and offer solutions.
- Documentation : Maintain detailed records of all activities in the designated system (Essential).
- Special Projects : Accept and complete special projects as assigned in a professional manner.
