Position Title : Director, Community Advocacy and Engagement
Status : Full-Time, Exempt Position
Salary Range : between $60,000-$70,000
Reports to : Chief Strategy Officer

Position Summary :
The Director of Community Advocacy and Engagement supports the Alliance's public policy and advocacy goals, advances the antihate and countering antisemitism agendas, provides education around the intersection of Judaism and community building, fosters conversation and engages other historically marginalized communities to increase capacity for shared goals, and builds bridges between multiple diverse populations. With close insight from the Community Relations Committee of the Board, this position engages with stakeholders from across communities, to advance shared goals of advocacy, education, activism, and partnership. The Director is responsible for leading the implementation of programmatic priorities focusing on issues related to antisemitism, domestic policy, social and economic justice, and interfaith / intergroup relations.

Community Advocacy :
- Foster collaborative relationships based on mutual understanding and respect with other communities and groups to build and engage in coalitions on areas of common concern and priorities.
- Develop relationships with elected officials at the local, state, and federal level.
- Represent the Jewish Alliance and Jewish stakeholders at key non-Jewish coalition groups and support legislative priorities emerging from those groups.
- Maintain strong relationships and cultivate new partnerships with diverse stakeholders to enhance our bridge-building work between the Jewish and non-Jewish communities.
- Have a proven track record of community engagement and activism for causes they care about.

Work Environment :
This role will require you to be in the office 4 days a week, with the option of one remote day after the initial review period. This role will require occasional nights and weekends. The Director will need access to reliable transportation to ensure travel across the Greater Rhode Island area.
