Shadows on the Hudson is looking for experienced full & part time bartenders to provide an excellent experience for our guests! Our casual waterfront restaurant features specialty cocktails, an expansive wine selection and rotating local craft, seasonal & domestic beers. The Bartender welcomes guests and takes drink orders from restaurant servers or directly from guests. Ensures guest age requirements are in compliance with current regulations for alcohol purchase by checking identification. Mixes cocktails and other bar beverages following established recipes. Generates new drink recipes for approval by bar management. Collects payment for drinks and follows all cash and credit handling procedures. Ensures bar area is clean, and fully stocked with needed products for beverage mixing and serving guests. Follows alcohol awareness process for preventing intoxication and effectively handles situations with intoxicated guests. Adheres to all company safety and sanitation policies and procedures.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Essential Job Functions:
- Wash your hands when you arrive at work and throughout your shift
- Follow all required guidelines for PPE when required to wear and maintain a clean and sanitized uniform at all times.
- Wipe down and sanitize bar area and stool after a guest leave in a manner that is in compliance with CDC guidelines
- Greets customers and takes food order; provides information about products and looks for opportunity to “up-sell” product
- Follows recipes and/or product directions for mixing beverages, Collects payments and operates cash registers for drinks and/or food served following company established cash handling policies and procedures for all transactions; secures all monies at the end of each shift
- Follows alcohol awareness procedures for preventing intoxication and deals with intoxicated guests
- Follows all customer service, adult beverage and cash handling policies and procedures
- Ensures a clean, sanitized and well stocked bar
- Adheres to all company safety and sanitation policies and procedures
Physical Requirements of the Bartender Position:
- Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours in length.
- Must be able to exert well-paced mobility in limited space.
- Must have the ability to bend, squat and lift up to 50 lbs., including, but not limited to, lifting trays of food or food items on a regular and continuing basis.
- Withstand temperatures of 0 degrees Fahrenheit or less and 100 degrees Fahrenheit or greater for periods of 30 minutes or more.
- Understand and respond to employee and guest verbal requests and visual cues in a loud and extremely busy environment.
Education Requirements:
A high school diploma or equivalent and or 3 year’s bartending experience in a high volume atmosphere. Must be 18 years of age or older.
Salary:
- $15.50 per hour ($10.35 Cash Wage $5.15 Tip Credit)
