Job Summary :
BTWA is seeking a compassionate and qualified School Nurse to provide healthcare services and promote health education within our school community. The ideal candidate will address the health needs of students, ensure a safe and healthy school environment, and have a passion for collaborating with educators and parents to support students' well-being across both of our small schools (elementary and middle) servicing approximately 350 students.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Healthcare Services :
- Provide basic first aid and medical care to students and staff as needed.
- Administer medications and monitor students with chronic conditions.
- Respond to emergency situations and provide appropriate care.
2. Health Assessment and Record-Keeping :
Conduct health screenings (e.g., vision, hearing) and assessments.Maintain up-to-date health records and documentation for all students.Monitor immunization records and communicate with parents regarding health needs.3. Health Education and Promotion :
Develop and implement health education programs for students, staff, and parents.Provide counseling and guidance on health-related issues.Promote healthy lifestyles and preventive care among students.4. Collaboration and Communication :
Work closely with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop care plans for students with special needs.Serve as a liaison between the school, families, and healthcare providers.Participate in meetings and committees related to student health and wellness.5. Compliance and Safety :
Ensure compliance with state and federal health regulations and school policies.Manage and maintain a safe and sanitary health office environment.Develop and update emergency response plans and procedures.Qualifications :
Current state licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related field preferred.Previous experience in pediatric or school nursing is preferred.Certification in CPR and First Aid.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.Personal Attributes :
