The Enterprise Application Governance manager will support the Director, Architecture, Strategy, and Governance in optimizing the governance framework for Enterprise Applications (EA) across BKNG, ensuring efficient decision making and alignment across brands. This role will be instrumental in driving EA strategy and governance initiatives that enhance synergies across the BKNG brands, while allowing for flexibility and innovation.
The Enterprise Application Governance manager will help design, run, and evolve a robust governance framework that empowers all brands to scale flexibly, adopt innovative business models, and converge on shared enterprise applications, ensuring cost efficiency and operational alignment.
The Enterprise Application Governance manager will work very closely with the Solution Architects across BKNG as well as with Procurement and other functional areas (Finance, People Tech, etc) to pragmatically implement measures and required alignment among them for better IT solutions.
In this role you will get to:
Governance Framework Development & Optimization
Support the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of a governance framework for Enterprise Applications (EA) to ensure efficiency, scalability, and innovation across brands.
Recommend policies, guidelines, and best practices to drive governance initiatives and maintain alignment with organizational goals.
Monitor governance effectiveness, addressing gaps and adapting the framework to evolving business needs.
Enterprise Application Strategy & Alignment
Work with the Director of Architecture, Strategy, and Governance to help drive the EA strategy, to ensure synergies across the brands while maintaining flexibility for innovation and unique business models.
Help facilitate decision-making processes that support enterprise-wide EA adoption and operational alignment from a project-coordination standpoint.
Ensure EA governance aligns with broader business objectives, supporting scalability and long-term growth.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
Partner with Solution Architects, Procurement, and other key stakeholders (Finance, People Tech, etc.) to ensure pragmatic and effective governance measures.
Act as a central point of coordination to align enterprise application initiatives across business functions.
Help foster a collaborative environment, balancing standardization with brand-specific requirements.
Risk Mitigation & Compliance
Identify potential risks related to EA governance and implement strategies to mitigate them.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational standards while supporting flexibility in EA adoption.
Provide support on procurement and implementation processes to align with governance frameworks.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation Enablement
Enable brands to adopt innovative business models within a structured governance framework.
Promote the convergence of shared enterprise applications while allowing subsidiaries to scale flexibly.
Stay informed on industry trends and emerging technologies to enhance EA governance strategies.
What you have:
Bachelor's Degree
Has the ability to slice through ambiguity and drive clarity where confusion exists, leveraging general technical expertise with strong business acumen
Identify, assess, track, and mitigate issues and risks at multiple levels
Create, maintain, and disseminate project information to stakeholders
Communicate project issues and status in a concise, accurate, and professional manner
Help drive cross-functional collaboration
Proven ability to work with consultants and cross-functional teams
Has the ability to systematically identify patterns and underlying issues in complex situations, and to find solutions by applying logical and analytical thinking
Has the ability to constructively evaluate and develop ideas, plans, and solutions by reviewing them, objectively taking into account external knowledge, initiating 'SMART' improvements, and articulating their rationale
Has experience in knowing the limit of their knowledge, proactively asking for help, and seeking constructive feedback
Has experience in delivering clear, well-structured, and meaningful information to a target audience by using suitable communication mediums and language tailored to the audience
Has experience in achieving mutually agreeable solutions by staying adaptable, communicating ideas in clear, coherent language, and practicing active listening
Has the ability to ask relevant (follow-up) questions to properly engage with the speaker and really understand what they are saying, by applying listening and reflection techniques
Has experience in writing clear documentation and updates

There are a variety of job related factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. In addition to a competitive base salary, roles are eligible to be considered for an annual bonus and equity grant.
The base salary range for Connecticut and the NYC-metro area is $139,500-$170,500.
