What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physical Therapist or Chiropractor position at Boomerang Healthcare?
We are seeking a full-time Physical Therapist or Chiropractor to work as part of an interdisciplinary team to evaluate and treat patients in our clinics. Our team consists of physical rehab providers (PTs, PTA, Chiropractors, trainers), Cognitive Behavioral Therapists, and MDs. We use an educationally based treatment model to teach patients transferable skills for managing chronic pain conditions. The physical therapy population is primarily adult orthopedic and chronic pain patients.

$105,000 to $125,000 Annually

What you will do:
For Physical Therapist:
- Evaluation and treatment of individual patients.
- Evaluate patients for the FRP / TBI program/ Work Conditioning program
- Create individualized exercise regimen and plan of care to reach established goals.
- Work with patients both individually and in groups alongside other clinicians
- Patient volumes can vary between 4-12 patients based on participants within program
- Deliver pain neuroscience education to individual patients and groups.
- Opportunities to collaborate with the medical and psychology teams while co-treating patients as well as with other physical rehab providers from the same or other sites.
- Diagnose disorders of the spine and other body joints; treating those patients whose symptoms result from abnormal musculo-skeletal conditions or joint mechanics through the corrective manipulation of the spinal column or other joints.
- Prescribe treatments using various modalities, exercise therapy/PT, myofascial soft tissue release.
- Set up care plans for patients and follow progress for favorable outcomes.
- The ability to perform and interpret x-rays as well as use tests to better understand a patient’s condition
- Perform exams and intake assessments by listening to patients' concerns and reviewing medical records
- Physically examine patients by testing their reflexes and posture
- Record patient data and keep detailed records of every treatment session
- Use chiropractic techniques to diagnose neuromusculoskeletal conditions
- Perform skeletal adjustments to relieve pain within a patient's body
- Use massage therapy techniques to reduce tension within a patient's muscles and help restore mobility
- Consult with patients and offer techniques and ideas for them to improve their physical health and comfort
- Refer patients to see other types of specialists when necessary
- Working with patients to learn about injuries or identify health concerns and create a plan for treatment or management.
- Administering holistic treatments, such as spinal manipulation, adjustments, massage, and hot and cold compresses.
- Providing patients with tips to improve their lifestyle, including nutrition, exercise plans, and stretches.
- Tracking patient information, keeping detailed records of conditions and care.
- Attending conferences and workshop to keep current with development in Chiropractic care.
- Referring patients to other doctors or specialists, as needed.
- See patients on a daily basis in order to determine their needs and perform manipulations and adjustments depending on their overall wellness plan
- Diagnose health problems by comprehensively reviewing the medical histories of patients and looking over the results of X-rays
- Provide advice to patients regarding how they can improve their health through chiropractic care and at-home exercises
- Create wellness plans for patients based on their goals for physical health and wellness, medical history, any injuries and personal requests
- Consult with patients regarding injuries and past health history, and make referrals to other medical professionals based on findings
- California Physical Therapy License or Chiropractic License
- Strong orthopedic assessment skills
- Knowledge of pain neuroscience, and /or in vestibular rehab to treat patient post-concussion
- Strong knowledge of exercise principles and the ability to relate them to functional performance.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well as part of a team as well as autonomously.
- Experience with EMR documentation preferred but will train.
- Ability to establish rapport with patients, families, professionals, and co-workers.
- An attitude of excellence in providing quality patient care.
- Demonstrate a strong drive and an open-minded approach to learning new treatment models.
- We will provide training for new graduates.
