What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lifeguard position at Boomers Park?
POSITION OVERVIEW
The primary objective of the Lifeguard is to ensure the safety and well-being of all Park Guests. In addition, welcome Guests to the pool facility and always be courteous and friendly, be attentive to their needs, handle concernsin a professional manner and are conscious of the importance of safety.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES
- Prevent injuries by communicating with the patrons and eliminating any hazards.Know and use the whistle signals.
- Alert the Lifeguard Lead or Supervisor of any concerning behavior.
- Reports any safety issues to supervision.
- Conducts safe, effective rescues according to training.
- When educating Guests, be polite and considerate.
- Enforces all departmental rules.
- Ensure equipment is in good working order prior to use.
- Makes sure hip packs are filled before use.
- Maintain the knowledge to complete live audits correctly.
- Ensure all warning signs for each attraction are being adhered too.
- Must attend all required in-service trainings to maintain lifeguard certification.
- Maintains test ready skills for in the event of an emergency.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 16 years of age.Must pass Star Guard Elite Lifeguard training.Must pass CPR/First Aid training.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- High School, High School Diploma, or equivalent.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must have 20/20 corrective vision and physical endurance to respond to emergencies (swim to and with guest in distress as well as perform CPR).
- Must be able to swim at least 200 yards.
- Must be able to tread water.
- Must be available for any shift during the week, weekends, and/or holidays.
