About The Role

The Event Services Center of Excellence's mission is to partner with our clients to help them build thriving cultures and achieve company goals through creatively curated and expertly planned in-person experiences.

As Director of Event & Service Operations, you will contribute to this mission by managing a large domestic and international team responsible for supporting our event planning and service operations teams including sourcing operations, supply operations, and event revenue operations. This role reports to the Vice President of Event Services & Industry Partnerships.

Top 3 Priorities

  • Build, maintain, and enforce department processes and efficiencies that support client service delivery and department scorecard metrics.
  • Significantly reduce the margin of error and escalations in client service delivery across all areas of the client journey including sales, planning, execution, and reconciliation.
  • Contribute to improving conversion and retention through operational excellence.

What you"ll do

  • Hire, train, manage, mentor, and support the event services functional teams which currently include supply operations, sourcing operations, and event revenue operations
  • Build new and improve existing processes to streamline workflows across the event services department, its stakeholders, and cross-functional teams
  • Address department operational issues and support team leads in driving resolutions
  • Closely monitor and manage event data to ensure accuracy and functionality
  • Partner with functional team leads to ensure excellent client delivery
  • Track, address, and solve escalations
  • Manage department use of industry resources including researching, onboarding, and training on new systems and/or technology that support BoomPop's infrastructure and operations
  • In partnership with department head and other department TLs, own and drive scorecard to meet quarterly and annual goals and support department OKRs.
  • Participate in monthly and quarterly monthly business reviews to report out on department operations as part of the company"s extended leadership team (ELT)

Qualifications

  • 10 years of experience managing business operations including high-volume workloads in fast-paced environments
  • 7 years of leadership experience required
  • Experience working with finance teams on gross, net, and profit margins
  • Experience working in a client-facing services environment
  • Strong knowledge of operating systems including Google Workplace, Equals, Monday, Retool, and more.
  • Experience scaling international teams and operations focused on client services and delivery
  • Strong English verbal and written communication and customer service skills
  • Extremely passionate about process and efficiency
  • Experience working in a startup environment
  • Growth mindset
  • Ability to navigate complex situations and problem-solve effectively
  • Ability to work U.S.-hours
  • Travel, events, and/or hospitality experience is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred

Occasional Travel: Connecting is in our DNA, please note that we anticipate roughly 3-4 nights of travel per quarter for this role.

Total Compensation Package; Including Benefits and Stock:

  • Base: $150,000 - $175,000 a year; Depending on Experience and Qualifications
  • Medical, vision, dental, life: $10,000 - $16,000 a year; Depending on Individual or Family Plan
  • Equity: Our vision is to take BoomPop to the moon; Total Estimated Value for this Role is $50,000
