Title: Food Service Staff
Reports To: Director of Food Service
Work Year: 9 months
Compensation & Hours: Part-time position. Pay range of $14.66 - $16.60 per hour depending on experience
Pay Period: Direct Deposit on the last day of the month
Benefits: Summers off, paid leave, IPERS
Job Goal: To provide each student with a nutritious and high quality meal prepared in a safe and efficient environment.
Required Education and Certification:
High School diploma or GED

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Listed below are the essential tasks required for this job.

Communicates and demonstrates customer service approach of the Food Services Program. |
Use proper food handling, cooking techniques, and food safety procedures. |
Participates in the proper food preparation and serving of meals according to the Food Service Department Standards. |
Assists with proper receiving, storage and inventorying of all food storage areas, paper, chemicals and smallwares according to the Food Service Department Standards. |
Ensures the freshness of all prepared items by implementing proper rotation of food items prepared, properly wrapping and labeling prepared food items, and following forecast production numbers. |
Helps maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen food storage and preparation areas. |
Assists with meal service preparation at the school site. Follows standardized recipes, portion sizes, menu compliance, and utilize proper equipment and techniques. |
Follows a smooth flow of service and coordinates to assure that the students, staff and faculty have a pleasurable dining experience. |
Accurately inputs all food production records and meal count data required for the National School Lunch Program. |
Foster district commitment to excellence and equity by ensuring that employees and students are valued, respected and provided a positive work/learning environment. |
Establish positive relations with internal and external customers, including students, staff, and school administration, parents, and community members. |
Perform other duties as assigned. |
