Description : Job Summary
The Camps and Athletic Programs will lead the planning, coordination, and implementation of Boone County’s summer camp programs and athletic programs. This role includes direct oversight all Boone County Parks summer camps, held at various locations throughout the county, as well as the design and management of athletic programs / leagues for youth and adults during the spring, summer, and fall months. The successful candidate will have a strong passion for community engagement, recreation program development, and youth enrichment. This position reports directly to the Deputy Director of Parks and Recreation.
Major Essential Duties
- Plan, organize, and facilitate Parks and Recreation summer camps across multiple locations, in Boone County.
- Hire, train, and supervise seasonal camp staff, including site directors, counselors, and volunteers.
- Manage camp enrollment, registrations, and communication with parents / guardians.
- Monitor and evaluate camp performance, maintaining high-quality participant experiences.
Athletic Program Planning
Develop, coordinate, and oversee a variety of athletic programs and leagues for youth and adults throughout the spring, summer, and fall seasons.Recruit, train, and supervise officials, coaches, and volunteers.Promote programs through marketing efforts in coordination with the department's marketing team.Maintain equipment inventory and ensure facilities are in safe, working condition.Minor Essential Duties

Education and / or ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Parks and Recreation, Sports Management, Education, or a related field preferred.2 years of related experience in recreation programming, camp coordination, or athletic program management required.Supervisory experience preferred.Language Skills
