School Bus Repairer Job Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled School Bus Repairer to join our transportation department at Boone County Schools. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of school buses to ensure they are safe and in good working condition. Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including lubrication of chassis and body components, replacement of lights, mirrors, and wipers, and touch-up painting of vehicles as directed by the foremen.
- Assist inspectors in performing preventative maintenance inspections on all fleet vehicles.
- Deliver buses to various locations for scheduled and emergency repairs, and assist mechanics in emergency road service calls.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED certificate required.
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (Class B) with endorsements P and S for interstate driving and a Kentucky School Bus Driver Certificate, or obtain within 90 days of employment.
- At least one year of general vehicle servicing experience required.
- Ability to lift and move objects weighing at least 75 pounds numerous times per day.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
