Boone County Schools seeks an experienced Mechanic Helper to join its transportation team. As a key member of the department, you will perform critical tasks to maintain the school district's fleet vehicles in good condition.
Your primary responsibilities will include completing lubrication services on all transportation vehicles, replacing necessary components such as lights and mirrors, and assisting mechanics with emergency road service calls. You will also help inspectors with preventative maintenance inspections and coordinate the delivery of buses to various locations.
To succeed in this role, you should possess a strong understanding of auto body and mechanical repair, combined with excellent communication and teamwork skills. A valid Commercial Driver's License (Class B) with endorsements P and S is required, along with at least one year of experience in general vehicle servicing.
