What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technology Teacher - Boonville Middle School position at Boonville Middle School?
All applicants must be licensed to teach Technology Education for grades 6, 7, and 8. Will also be teaching Computing Foundations for a Digital Age for 8th grade.
Purpose of Position
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
Qualifications
A. Bachelor’s Degree of related subject from accredited university.
B. Indiana Teaching Certificate.
C. Experience is preferred, but not necessary for hiring.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
A. Develops and implements plans for the curriculum program assigned and show written evidence of preparation as required.
B. Prepares lessons that reflect accommodation for individual student differences.
C. Presents the subject matter according to guidelines established by Indiana
Department of Education, Board Policies, and Administrative Regulations.
D. Plans and uses appropriate instructional/learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect accommodations for individual needs of students assigned.
E. Works cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for special education students.
F. Cooperates with other members of the staff in planning and implementing
instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to state requirements.
G. Plan and supervise purposeful assignments for teacher aide(s) and/or volunteer(s).
H. Uses technologies in the teaching/learning process.
I. Consistently assesses student achievement through formal and informal assessment.
J. Presents a positive role model for students that supports the mission of the school.
K. Creates a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
L. Manages student behavior in the classroom and administers discipline according to Board Policies and Administrative Regulations.
