Job Description
Boops Co. Boarding & Daycare is seeking hardworking, organized, and self-motivated Shift Leaders for our growing business! We are seeking part time employees. While the position would start at part time, there would be room for advancement in the future to full time.
The Shift Leader is responsible for maintaining accountability and safety for a team of employees and a group of animals! We are a fast-paced business and the candidate should be prepared to spend the entire shift on their feet. Multi-tasking and maintaining organization in a busy environment is required.
Successful team members are aware of their environment at all times and consistently attend to the ever-changing pack environment and special needs of each animal. This position requires a high level of responsibility as we are caring for the lives of animals and monitoring and maintaining a safe environment. This is a dirty job and HARD work which requires being self sufficient. Daily assignments fluctuate with the needs of the business, and may include, but are not limited to performing nail trims and bathing dogs to company standards.
Qualifications
- At Minimum, 1 Year of previous experience as a Boarding / Daycare attendant or lead
- Must be over 18 Years Old
- Must be well trained on dog body language and behavior
- Must have a basic knowledge of dog anatomy & health
- Must have reliable transportation
- Available to work hours as listed above including weekends and holidays
- Able to lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel
- Possess strong verbal communication skills and the ability to train and develop teams
- Possess strong skills in organization, multi-tasking, and maintaining oversight
- Demonstrate proven customer service skills
- Interact in a positive way with all sizes and types of dogs; Boops Co. does not breed discriminate
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee staff to ensure exceptional customer service and the safety/well-being of all animals in our care
- Train new staff members on company standards, protocols, and safety procedures, ensuring consistent adherence to company guidelines
- Oversee daily operations, including check-in/check-out procedures, feeding, playtime, and cleaning routines to maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment
- Utilize your understanding of dog behavior to assess and manage dog interactions, ensuring a positive and safe play environment
- Interact with customers, addressing inquiries, providing updates on their animals, and ensuring a positive customer experience
- In-store and out-of-store marketing such as local dog events, special promotions, and customer competitions
- Participate in management strategic meetings; Contribute ideas and input on topics discussed
- Enforce health and safety protocols to prevent illness or injury among dogs and staff
- Respond effectively to emergencies or incidents as they arise.
