Our business operations primarily take place overnight, so your schedule should have enough flexibility to overlap with the start of overnight shifts occasionally. This is a hybrid position. You should be available to work in person at least 1 day per week at the corporate office in Tustin, CA, or Richmond, CA. This role will require periodic travel to yard locations in California and Seattle.
What You Will Be Doing
- Design and implement safety processes that understand the needs of our business and employees.
- Supervise the delivery and execution of safety programs/training.
- Create and maintain company-specific training materials on our LMS platform.
- Create and maintain company-specific SOPs, policies/procedures, and work instructions.
- Visit sites to conduct inspections that identify and address potential safety and compliance risks.
- Conduct audits to ensure compliance with company policy and industry regulations.
- Oversee incident/accident investigations using root-cause analysis.
- Manage worker's compensation and vehicle liability claims. Act as a liaison between claims adjusters, loss control, underwriters, and Booster’s leadership.
- Coach and develop our field leaders on various safety, compliance, and training topics.
- Lead initiatives that ensure a consistent safety culture throughout all Booster locations.
- Assist with integrating safety and compliance capabilities into our existing software platforms.
- Prepare reports and presentations to advise senior leadership on safety matters.
- Monitor driver qualification and maintenance files for compliance.
- Ensure Booster maintains compliance with industry regulations.
- Stay knowledgeable of all new industry compliance regulations (OSHA, DOT, EPA)
What You Should Already Have
- Bachelor's Degree
- 2-5 years of EHS experience
- Experience creating safety presentations, training, SOPs, and work instructions.
- Experience implementing and executing new safety programs.
- Experience training and mentoring operations leaders and personnel in safety and compliance topics.
- Experience in managing compliance with industry regulators (OSHA, DOT, EPA)
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally to create safety and training programs.
- Experience ensuring compliance with various regulatory bodies, including DOT, OSHA, EPA & applicable state agencies.
- Willing to work in a dynamic start-up environment.
- Willing to periodically visit work sites during evening hours.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to take initiative, identify problems, and create solutions.
- Proficient with Google Software Suite.
- Comfortable learning and using company-specific software and technology.
Salary: $90,000 to $100,000
