Job Summary:
The Grants Management Specialist will provide comprehensive support to SAMHSA's Office of Financial Resources (OFR) across various aspects of grant management. This role requires a strong understanding of federal grant regulations and policies, excellent analytical and communication skills, and proficiency in data management tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Training Development and Support:
- Conduct needs assessments to identify training requirements for external and internal audiences on grant management topics.
- Develop and deliver training materials, including presentations, handouts, and online courses.
- Coordinate logistics and scheduling for in-person and virtual training sessions.
- Evaluate training effectiveness and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
- Policy and Standard Operating Procedures Development Support:
- Research and analyze grant regulations and policies to support the development and revision of SAMHSA's internal procedures.
- Assist in drafting responses to congressional inquiries related to grant management.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop policy documents, process guides, and infographics.
- Analytic Support:
- Utilize data tools to extract, analyze, and report on grant management data for tracking, monitoring, and reporting purposes.
- Assist with the development and implementation of automated processes to streamline grant management workflows.
- Generate reports and respond to data inquiries related to grants management.
Education and Skills Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2 years of experience in grants management, training development, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of federal grant regulations and policies (e.g., 45 CFR Part 75, 2 CFR 200).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and data management tools (e.g., Tableau, SharePoint).
- Experience with instructional design principles (e.g., ADDIE model) is preferred.
- Experience with developing and delivering training materials is a plus.
