What are the responsibilities and job description for the Background Screening Case Manager position at Booz Allen?
Key Role:
Serve as a background screening adjudicator responsible for facilitating screening processes and ensuring proper record management within the background screening program for employment candidates. Apply critical thinking skills when evaluating and analyzing information presented by applicants as part of the new hire process. Adjudicate investigative results provided by a third-party vendor based on firm standards for risk mitigation. Maintain responsibility for the review of investigative reports to ensure accuracy. Perform in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high organizational oversight to ensure task completion. Maintain compliance standards with local and national laws in each area of operation as they pertain to background screenings, investigations, and their impact on employment. Interact with candidates both written and verbally in a professional environment. Collaborate with external groups, including vendors, employee relations, the law department, and security services while maintaining a professional bearing.
Basic Qualifications:
Experience with the protection of confidential or sensitive materials and data
Experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
Ability to communicate with all levels of staff, external clients, and candidates effectively in written and verbal forms
Ability to be detail-oriented and adapt to changing case volumes and types
Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
HS diploma or GED
Additional Qualifications:
Experience with investigations in a corporate, law enforcement, or military environment
Experience with legal or compliance processes
Knowledge of the Fair Credit Reporting Act as it pertains to background screenings
Knowledge of military discharge documentation and practices and processing of DD214s
Knowledge of court record documents, court records, and outcomes
Bachelor's degree

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $51,600.00 to $105,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
