National Security Affairs Advocacy Manager

Key Role:

Develop and execute strategic legislative engagement and advocacy initiatives. Collaborate closely with senior executives and key business leaders across the company to maintain awareness of National Security business priorities, as well as identify potential risks and benefits associated with various policy, legislative, and regulatory initiatives, particularly in areas such as the Intelligence Community, Homeland Security, and national security Space. Coordinate and represent Booz Allen’s strategic policy and advocacy objectives before lawmakers, policymakers, and other stakeholders, including trade associations and industry peers. Develop and manage a disbursement plan for the Booz Allen Political Action Committee. Ensure all activities comply with relevant laws, Booz Allen policies, and ethical standards.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience working with public policy, lobbying, leading people, defining strategies, establishing client relationships, and delivering innovative solutions

  • Experience working on Capitol Hill or lobbying Congress, including with the House and Senate Intelligence Committees and Homeland Security Committees

  • Experience managing projects and direct reports and developing and executing long-term strategies with clearly defined measurable outcomes

  • Experience working collaboratively with members of both parties, including established relationships with Members of Congress and their staff

  • Experience with using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Knowledge of legislative issues across the Intelligence and Homeland Security Committees

  • Knowledge of Congress and the legislative process

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • Bachelor's degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience delivering corporate Government Relations communications with key elected officials, regulators, agencies, trade associations, and executive branch and administration officials to achieve business objectives

  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, including addressing complex matters and solutions with senior leadership and building and briefing presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint

  • Possession of excellent judgment and leadership skills, including adhering to the highest ethical standards

  • Possession of excellent organizational and people management skills, including project management and team leadership and mentorship

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $139,400.00 to $259,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
