The Opportunity:

As a security operations center analyst, you’re in the middle of the action, responding to and mitigating threats in real time. You’re the first line of cyber defense for your organization, and they look to you for guidance on best practices and security measures. We need a Tier 3 SOC analyst like you to help us secure critical infrastructure from the constant onslaught of cyber attacks for defense.

On our SOC team, you’ll oversee efforts to find the advanced threats that are escaping detection, by analyzing logs, forensic data, and threat intelligence. Using your deep understanding of your client’s networks combined with your cyber security experience, you’ll analyze patterns to understand attackers’ goals and stop them from succeeding. Once your team finds the adversary in the SEIM’s blind spot, you’ll advise our client on ways to close the gaps and harden their network.

We are seeking an experienced SOC Incident Commander to lead and coordinate the response to critical security incidents. This role serves as the primary point of contact during major security events, ensuring a swift and effective response while minimizing business impact. The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to make critical decisions under pressure. You’ll use your cyber security skills to serve as the primary authority during cybersecurity incidents, providing decisive leadership and strategic direction to incident response teams. You will act as the central authority during security incidents, facilitating communication between SOC analysts, IT teams, executive leadership, and external stakeholders.

You'll develop and execute incident response plans, ensuring alignment with industry best practices, such as NIST, MITRE ATT&CK, or CIS. You will provide real-time guidance to SOC analysts and incident responders during escalated events. You'll oversee forensic investigations, root cause analysis, and post-incident reporting. You will continuously improve incident response processes, playbooks, and escalation procedures. You will conduct after-action reviews (AARs) and drive lessons learned into security improvements. You will work closely with threat intelligence, red teams, and risk management teams to enhance the organization’s security posture. You'll ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to incident response and reporting. You'll develop and lead SOC-wide training exercises, including tabletop simulations and red or blue team drills.

You Have:

• 7 years of experience in cybersecurity

• 3 years of experience in an incident response or SOC leadership role

• Experience with SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, forensic tools, and cloud security platforms

• Experience working with executive leadership, legal teams, and external regulatory bodies during incidents

• Knowledge of security incident management, forensic analysis, and threat intelligence

• Knowledge of attack methodologies, malware analysis, and adversary tactics

• Knowledge of scripting and automation for incident response, such as Python or PowerShell

• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity or Information Technology

• Security certifications, such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC, such as GCIH, GCFA, or GNFA, or OSCP

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $110,100.00 to $250,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
