Primary Purpose:
To develop and promote ways in which the district's curriculum objectives and students’ performance goals may be better achieved through evaluation of instruction, teacher training, and curriculum developments in reading, writing, math, science and social studies. Support classroom teachers by modeling intervention lessons, observing intervention and giving feedback as needed.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
Master’s degree in education preferred
Valid Texas teaching certificate
GT Cerfification Preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Must have a documented tract record of consistent and significant gains in student academic achievement with low performing subgroups for each of the past two years
Must be able to plan and deliver individualized remediation in reading and mathematics
Knowledge of subjects assigned
General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior
Spanish speaking preferred
Minimum Experience:
Minimum three years of elementary teaching experience
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Program Management:
- Lead RTI process at the campus level.
- Lead RTI Professional Learning Community (PLCs) to review data and create Intervention/Enrichment groups at each grade level.
- Collaborate to create Intervention Activities and Progress Monitoring documents.
- Run RTI meetings to discuss progress of students at Tier 2 and Tier 3.
- Provide direct student academic interventions.
- Analyze student achievement and teaching methods in literacy and math.
- Plan and present training sessions to help raise level of instructional performance to increase student achievement as directed by supervisor.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, principals, directors, and others on content problems to find solutions to meet student/district needs.
- Serve as consultant in the selection of instructional supplies, equipment, and books.
- Disseminate information regarding current research as it pertains to intervention at the state and national level for RTI.
- Compile, maintain, and analyze reports, records, and other documents required for intervention and RTI process.
- Comply with policies established by state and federal law, State Board of Education Rule, and the local board policy as directed by supervisor for the purpose of intervention.
Curriculum/Research
- Keep apprised of major technology research base studies in reading and math, and inform teachers of the developments affecting them.
- Confer with teachers, principals, and directors on content/technical concerns.
- Consult with teacher, administrators, and other relevant individuals to enhance their work with students.
School/Organizational Climate
- Maintain a positive and effective relationship with peers and supervisors.
- Comply with all district and local campus routines and regulations.
- Provide for positive, effective two-way communication with supervisors, staff, district employees, and community.
- Assess and respond to any needs related to job responsibilities.
- Assist in continuing evaluation of the instructional assigned program and implement changes based on the findings as directed.
