We're hiring a Senior Loan Operations Specialist at Border Bank! This position may be located at any Border Bank location.
The Sr. Loan Operations Specialist will report directly to the Loan Operations Manager. The primary responsibilities of this position will be focused on training, projects, post-closing and servicing, loan operations and accounting. Will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for a variety of functions that support the commercial and retail/consumer lending operations of the bank. The Sr. Loan Operations Specialist will assist and be a back-up to the Loan Operations Manager and be cross trained on duties within the Loan Operations Department to serve as a back-up when necessary.
Senior Loan Operations Specialist Accountabilities:
- Provide Commercial and Consumer (Retail) Lending Operations support to the bank, including streamlining of workflows and ensuring written procedures are in place for lending support. Will identify, suggest, and implement (when necessary) workflow efficiencies.
- Train new and existing branch support positions on completing all tasks on their training checklist (except for consumer Mortgage tasks), this may be done either in-person or virtual training as needed.
- Key contributor in projects where loan operations expertise is needed, be an active and contributing member of the project team, and complete tasks (e.g., research, testing, installation, monitoring, ongoing duties) independently.
- Work closely with Compliance to ensure all procedures are in alignment with Compliance guidelines and collaborate on any regulatory changes to implement. Assist with Audit and Examination preparations and needs.
- Work with Retail Training Manager, Customer & Employee Experience Director, Credit Manager, and Credit Administration Manager on any new products or software roll outs to ensure that retail and operations staff work have a seamless workflow. Serve as SME for compliance and operational needs for consumer and commercial loans including user set up.
- SME of the following systems: Core banking software, Director, nCino/Expere, Business Analytics, Simplifile, Lien Solutions, and any other applicable software or websites that are needed to support loan operations. Understand parameters, use cases, guide and train on process and procedures; may be an admin for various systems.
- Assist lenders by determining and obtaining any pre-closing due diligence documents needed on commercial and agriculture loans.
- Process loans while ensuring perfection of the bank's lien position and assisting lenders in providing excellent and timely customer service on commercial and agriculture loans.
- Upload and fund loans once documents are signed and ensure that all documents are uploaded appropriately on commercial and agriculture loans.
- Lead annual lien search project.
- Complete post-closing review of loan files to include the addition of ticklers and quality assurance on commercial and agriculture loans.
- Provide ongoing loan servicing for all uploaded loans for all business lines.
- Complete quality assurance on any post-closing loan servicing. Provide feedback to the Loan Operations Manager and Department on more efficient ways to complete QA.
- Work on monthly, quarterly, and annual loan file projects and reports.
- Complete loan accounting duties such as GL balancing, participation accounting, loan status changes, and review of loan payments.
- Train back-up on loan accounting duties.
- Create and submit reporting for various agencies and management, pulling data from the core banking system using various reporting systems, such as Business Analytics and nCino Analytics.
Senior Loan Operations Specialist Education and Experience:
- Completion of a 2-year degree or completion of equivalent specialized training.
- 5 - 8 years of experience or training in a related position.
