Border States Paving is hiring a Blade Operator! Hiring for 2025 season!
This position will travel throughout North Dakota and South Dakota approximately Apr-Nov working Mon-Sat.
Job Summary:
Operate the blade/motor grader to perform dirt work/subgrade prep and/or finish grade work. Responsible for the efficient working condition of the blade and is expected to perform maintenance and minor servicing. Takes instruction from Superintendent/Foreman and assists with groundwork when required. The highest quality of workmanship is expected in assigned paving projects while working in a safe, productive and professional manner.
Complete daily visual and safety inspection of the blade to ensure safe operation.
Understand and perform start-up and shutdown process of the blade.
Operate blade/motor grader to make successive passes over working area to spread, level and grade gravel base or shouldering material, shape and finish slopes and shoulders.
Perform maintenance checks and minor servicing to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life.
Inform the Superintendent and Mechanic crew about repair and maintenance needs for equipment on assigned jobs.
Ensure that safety, compliance, environmental and OSHA requirements are followed at all times.
Relate to co-workers and the general public in a courteous and respectful manner.
Willingness to work in a team environment to assist co-workers and/or supervisors with training or other duties.
This seasonal position travels extensively throughout ND & SD. $350 weekly per diem
Pay: $33.25-$33.40/hour plus $21.90/hour fringe (100% paid health insurance premium & pension through fringe)
