Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Focuses on three key aspects of inventory control: planning and adherence of cycle counting and inventory accuracy processes, handling customer and vendor return processes, and ensuring proper placement and slotting of inventory
- Develops cycle counting plan and helps ensure company benchmarks are met
- Completes cycle counts and compares inventory to system records
- Verifies counts against physical inventory and completes inventory adjustments for discrepancies
- Investigates and reports reasons for inventory discrepancies
- Reviews and addresses operational inventory metrics such as 20 list, inventory adjustments, and Advanced Shipping Notifications to resolve any inventory discrepancies, make appropriate corrections.
- Receives, unpacks and stocks materials
- Processes customer returns, oversees damage and defective inventory returns
- Handles Return Goods Authorization (RGA) with vendors
- Ensures proper placement and slotting of inventory to ensure safety and efficiency
- Prepares reports as needed
- Participate with branch or other projects as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or other designate
- Minimum of a two-year business/trade degree or equivalent work experience.
- 3 years or more of experience in warehouse operations or inventory control preferred
- Prior electrical distribution experience preferred
- Strong working knowledge of PC for Windows, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, and PowerPoint), Internet, Email and SAP software preferred
- Excellent interpersonal communication
- Effective planning and organizing and attention to detail
- Excellent customer service skills include being competent, accurate, responsive and engaged
