Federal Construction Project Manager
Overall Description:
The Construction Project Manager is responsible for end-to-end project management associated with delivery of critical construction projects. Project range from design-build, bid-build projects with focus on MEP systems upgrades, for renovations, and new build projects for the Federal Government. Oversee critical facility project delivery to ensure quality and reduce risk.
Key Responsibilities:
Project manager is responsible for selecting, managing and coordinating internal project teams, architects, engineers and contractors associated with delivery of portfolio of various small to large scale projects. Provides construction and project management leadership to ensure success of small to large projects. The position will work closely with the VP of Construction to ensure fully integrated construction methodologies are utilized. Responsible for setting project direction and metrics to measure success. Provides leadership to mitigate conflicting interests from various user groups. Position facilitates problem resolution for major field issues impacting multiple disciplines. Maintains up to date awareness of construction trends, technology, and compliance. Understands and looks for life cycle cost effective ways to embrace and implement LEED in assigned construction projects. Aggressively challenges firms and project managers for proper due diligence with regulatory federal agencies. The construction manager is responsible for coordinating with internal groups to ensure proper information is communicated appropriately.
Key Duties:
· Use disciplined project management methodology to define scope, develop project plan, and execute projects. Design guidelines and deliver within cost and schedule constraints.
· Possess strong knowledge and expertise of project management tools in critical path scheduling, budget and estimate development, contract and change management.
· Develop robust project risk management plans to ensure timely delivery, testing and commissioning of all projects with no impact to business continuity.
· Work within cross-functional teams of facility partners, clients, contractors, and vendors to deliver critical infrastructure projects.
· Drive client satisfaction and speed to market while delivering high quality and robust project solutions.
· Responsible for establishing project budgets and data documentation controls.
· Maintain real time updating of project budgets along with compliance with all data documentation requirements.
· Work with the Vice President of Construction to oversee project managers, project engineers, and others, as necessary.
· 10-15 years of construction and project management experience with a strong federal construction technical background.
· Strong leadership ability to drive teams to achieve business results.
· Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
· 10-15 years of experience in construction project management or equivalent.
