Federal Construction Site Safety/Health Officer
Overall Description:
Responsible for management of the Contractor Health and Safety Program
Key Responsibilities: (but not limited to:)
- Responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing the safety and loss prevention program for a company's construction department.
- Ensures that each project site conforms to all applicable safety regulations.
- Visit each active project site daily to ensure full compliance with all health and safety requirements.
- Must be at each project site at all times when work is being performed.
- Responsible for assigning safety inspectors to sites and ensuring that follow-ups are conducted when necessary.
- Provides solutions when sites are found to be in violation of safety standards.
- Manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs.
- Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets.
- Education:
- Requires a bachelor's degree. (preferred)
- Requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.
- 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.
- Extensive knowledge of the function and department processes.
